The Woodlands Learning Centre
At St Joseph’s In The Park, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives an inclusive, nurturing, and tailored education that meets their individual needs.
As part of this commitment, we are proud to announce that from September 2025, The Woodlands Learning Centre, is enhancing its current SEND provision:
1. The offering will now extend to pupils in Years 1 and 2
2. Pupils in the centre will have access to a full day of specialised learning
This new model will be phased in incrementally according to the needs of our pupils. Pupils currently part of the existing Woodlands provision, will continue to receive SEND support in the morning and return to whole class teaching in the afternoon.
The Woodlands Learning Centre will deliver dedicated, specialist provision within the St Joseph’s In The Park grounds. This centre of excellence will provide a structured, yet flexible learning environment for neurodiverse pupils and those needing additional educational support. This initiative reflects our dedication to fostering a culture where every child feels valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
Woodlands is a unique and supportive learning unit. As a family we are delighted that our son is part of it. The teaching and support given to the children is outstanding. They are nurtured, encouraged and taught in as many different ways as needed to help them learn, understand and achieve.
What is particularly special is how Woodlands seamlessly fits in with the school day. It is the norm for children to participate in Woodlands lessons then join the rest of their peers in the mainstream class. The whole school, including the children, have a greater understanding of different needs and that some children just need more support.
