Music and Drama
For a small school we have an exceptional music programme that offers something for every child whether they want to jam in a band or learn the art of choral singing.
Choirs
The school has four choirs:
Crescendo Choir for Years 1-2, where children take their first steps in choral singing Probationers’ Choir for Year 3: preparation for the next step, scheduled as part of the timetable so all children take part The Park Choir for Years 4-6: the school’s flagship choir that sings at formal services and events Singing Club: a fun choir covering varied repertoire from stage and screen to pop
Instrumental
Individual lessons: we are fortunate to have a Suzuki piano teacher who can offer lessons from pre-school age upwards. Lesson in traditional piano plus a host of orchestral instruments and singing are available from Year 2.
Ensembles:
Orchestra: for brass, woodwind, string and percussion players of any standard Violin ensemble: this comes together to perform at special events throughout the year Little Violins : this unique programme offers Year 1 children the chance to learn the violin in a group through fun and games. They can then opt for individual lessons from Year 2
Music theory/ Musicianship:
This club provides vital support for those learning an instrument or singing, covering theory and aural skills through games and activities
Performance opportunities:
Highlights include Harvest Festival, Carol and Easter Services, full-scale musicals, Spring Recital and a Summer Showcase.
