Have you ever wanted to play an instrument, dance, sing, act? Do you have a burning ambition to perform in the West End? All this has been achieved by pupils at St Joseph’s In The Park.
We believe that every child deserves a chance to shine. We aim for high standards in our performing arts but what our children gain from taking part is far more valuable. Through music, drama and dance they experience teamwork, a sense of achievement and an immense joy and freedom of being given the opportunity to express themselves.
Children at St Joseph's start treading the boards from a very early age. Even our youngest children get to sing and dance in front of an audience during plays, nativities and assemblies.
Performance is a celebration of what St Joseph's pupils are: confident, courageous, talented, funny and most of all, joyful.
There is also a Dance Club.
We offer all pupils from Years 2 to 6 the opportunity to attend Speech and Drama sessions. Weekly sessions are designed to encourage the children to build on their self-confidence, enjoy exploring their individual creative skills, develop their communication skills and learn to work effectively as part of a team.
St Joseph’s pupils achieve excellent results in Group Introductory (Year 2), Solo Introductory through to Solo Grade 1 Verse and Prose (Years 3, 4 and 5) and Devised Duologues (Year 6) during the Summer term.
We believe the LAMDA examination experience is not only very enjoyable but extremely worthwhile in equipping children of all ages and abilities with essential skills for modern life.
