Bringing education to life

Sporting Success

Sport is very strong at St Joseph's In The Park and the children are very successful. Here are a selection of the children's recent achievements in swimming, football, tennis, netball and golf.

IAPS Swimming - Nationals Finalist

Ellie is pictured with Olympic champion Michael Jamieson.

Congratulations to Ellie

With the support of our friends at Berkhamsted Prep, who loaned us the use of their indoor pool and the expertise of their swimming coach, we selected for the very first time U10 and U11 teams who went forward to the qualifying round of the annual IAPS Swimming Gala. This is a prestigious event with more than 400 teams entering the qualifying galas, this year hoping to make it through to the Prep Schools Swimming Finals at the London Aquatics Centre. The standard was very high and the times fast. We celebrated Ellie's qualification for the National Finals in Butterfly and applauded all of our children for trying out for the squad.

ISFA Nationals at St George’s Park

Our boys made a stunning debut in the Independent Schools Football Association tournament to become the U11 seven-a-side regional champions and progress to the national finals. Ten schools took to the pitches at Chigwell School for the Essex regional and were split into two groups of five. We won our final match 3-0, having overcome St Edmund’s on penalties in the semi-final to progress to the national event at St George’s Park, Staffordshire in May.

“We are extremely proud of our boys for this wonderful achievement. It is the first time we have entered the competition and to come back with the cup is an outstanding success for a school of our size.” Mr Brown

Tennis Honours at Queenswood Festival

Three boys recognised for their achievements …
Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of tennis at Queenswood School. Amongst some fantastic playing and coaching, we are incredibly proud of three of our boys who received awards: Stanley for Sportsmanship, Owen for Best Boy Player and Austin for Best Effort. Well done boys and Year 6!

Boys play at ISGA Golf Competition

Promoting team spirit …
Three of our Junior boys, Stanley, Austin and James, took part in the Independent Schools Golf Association’s Radley Putter. The team based event promotes team spirit in a game generally seen as an individual sport.

Girls Netball Highlights

Another successful season …
Girls netball continues to be very successful at St Joseph’s In The Park. Highlights for the girls were winning the Jubilee Plate at the U11 Netball Tournament at St Francis’ College, Letchworth Garden City and playing in the IAPS Regional event at Felsted.
